BY KATIE DEVLIN

Master Lightburn and your laser FAST so you can get to the fun stuff.

Your laser arrived, and you’ve started making a few things, but you’re wondering - what to do next?

You’re watching the YouTube videos, reading the blogs, scouring the Facebook groups, trying to find a step-by-step plan for mastering YOUR laser and Lightburn, and coming up short.

You get conflicting information piecemeal, and this process doesn’t feel effective or efficient.

You’re worried that you made a mistake investing in your laser, and you’re overwhelmed with all there is to learn.

Learning your Laser doesn’t have to be overwhelming or scary!

Imagine Instead:

Knowing how to find the right settings for YOUR machine, with confidence every time, no Facebook searching required.

Navigating Lightburn with ease, from Layers to Libraries, all while making the fun, saleable projects you dreamed of when you bought your laser.

Working step-by-step through project lessons that tell you what you need to know, when you need to know it, giving you more confidence with each new project.

Mastering everything from Engraving and Scoring to Kerf, Slots, and Tabs without needing to find 5 different videos for each topic.

Wouldn’t you love to have one place to go with one teacher to get all the answers you don’t even know you need?

Learning your laser doesn’t have to be overwhelming or scary.

No matter what that condescending person in a Facebook group told you…

Introducing:

Commercial Rights SVGs you can sell projects from right away

Bonus Lessons - Including Rotary 101!

This is the program I wish existed when I moved from my Glowforge to my 60-watt CO2 Thunder Laser running Lightburn.

I wanted a jump start with someone to take me step-by-step, sharing the key things I needed to understand along the way, including why they were important and how I would apply them.

I wanted to make all the projects, and I wanted to do it FAST.

These lessons do just that.

THE PROJECTS

Material Testing, Engraving, Scoring and Cutting

  • We’ll start by making a hanging sign from plywood. We are heavily focused on reviewing the material testing process for engraving and cutting. Once you master this, no material will intimidate you again! You’ll know how to get the desired results and not depend on finding someone else with your machine to share settings.

  • We review the difference between Engraving and Scoring -what to look for in files that can work for scoring and how to set up Lighburn to achieve the results you want.

Acrylic

  • Acrylic keychains give us some new skills and an opportunity to focus on some of the differences when working with Acrylic vs. plywood.

  • We review engraving on the front vs. back of specific types and colors of acrylic, as well as fun finishing techniques and options.

Mirroring, Offsets, Ramps and Multiple Passes

  • Time to make stamps! These are such a popular project that can teach us many things about Lightburn, our materials, and how to use our lasers.

  • We review how to create offsets, mirror designs, use ramps to strengthen the edges of our stamp details, and set multiple passes within lightburn.

Kerf - Fitting Slots for Stands and Scoring for Placement

  • Are you afraid to make stands and signs because Kerf sounds intimidating? This lesson will familiarize you with how to measure and account for Kerf, including adjusting existing files to get those nice tight press fits you are looking for.

  • We make a standing sign in this lesson and attach a 3D element using score lines for placement. You’ll be ready to make your social media or payment sign in no time after this project.

Kerf continued - Tabs, Finger Joints and More

  • We’ll expand our understanding of Kerf by making boxes. We’ll use free software to create the design, discuss what inputs we need to understand to get the best result, and create our plans.

  • We’ll review how to add details to our box in Lightburn after we import our plans and look at options to personalize our projects.

Placement on Existing Items - Jigs & Framing

  • Placement on existing items can be tricky - in this lesson, we make it simple and we review two ways to do it.

  • We’ll make a jig for repeatable items and using framing for “one-offs” or items that don’t require as much precision

Image Engraving

  • Engraving images and photos requires different skills and techniques. In this project, we will go through the basics of photo engraving.

  • We will look at the different types of image rendering and how to think about your project and the results you want to achieve

Lightburn Fundamentals

Waiting on your laser? You can start learning lightburn right away with this set of lessons

Rotary 101

Purchased a rotary and unsure how to get started? This bonus covers the basics including calculating steps per rotation, setting your parameters in Lightburn, and making your first tumbler engravings. We’ll even touch on how to make full wraps if that’s your thing!

This is for you if:

You want structured learning for your CO2 Laser and Lightburn

  • You want to make ALL THE THINGS but don’t want to bounce from idea to idea and not fully understand the “why” behind what you’re doing.

  • You want to make projects on day 1 with your laser, starting simple and building from there.

  • You want to know you are gaining all the Lightburn skills you need - no fluff or unnecessary steps allowed.

You want to learn at your own pace, where and when you want

  • When you find the right program, you want to dive in and consume all you can at the pace that works for you. Maybe that’s bingeing the whole course in a weekend or spreading it out over a few months.

  • You don’t want to be restricted to time zones or timeframes that might not work with your busy schedule.

  • You want a learning platform that goes with you to your shop or garage or that spare bedroom where your laser lives

You’re a beginner and a little nervous to use your laser

  • Guess what, we’ve all been there (even that mean person in the Facebook group).

  • This course is beginner-friendly - I don’t assume that you’ve done anything with lasers before, so we cover all the details.

  • If you’re coming from another, more automated laser, we’ll cover the parts that will be new for you like manual focus and material settings.

You’re ready to shortcut your learning curve

  • Lightburn is a robust program, but you don’t need to know everything to run your laser successfully. I’ll show you what you need to know (and some tips others may not) to get you up and running quickly.

  • Could you find all this information on YouTube or elsewhere? Probably, but it will take you longer than this program to put it all together. What is your time worth?

So, are you ready to jump in and learn your laser FAST?
